Under the direction of the Money Room Supervisor, the Money Counter, using coin and currency counters, will assist with the counting of fare box revenue, which includes money, receipts from the sale of bus passes, the preparation of fare box system reports, the transfer and set-up of fare box system equipment, and necessary cleaning duties in the fare box system work area.
The Regulatory Compliance and Civil Rights Officer (RCCRO) delivers and administers programs to ensure regulatory compliance at the state and federal levels for Long Beach Transit (LBT).
The RCCRO provides guidance and direction to LBT’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and staff on regulatory guidelines, organizational compliance and Civil Rights programs including, but not limited to, the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Small Business Enterprise (SBE), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title VI and Environmental Justice programs.
This position requires the ability to work independently, to have knowledge of and be able to interpret applicable state and federal laws and regulations, and to implement programs that address the necessary laws and regulations to support LBT’s mission.
Under the supervision of the Customer Service Supervisor, the Customer Service Clerk assists customers with transit trip planning and other information by telephone, email and in person. Responsibilities include assisting with promotional programs, staffing the Transit & Visitor Information Center (TVIC) in downtown Long Beach, as well as the reception area of Long Beach Transit’s (LBT) administrative office. This position will also assist with community outreach, representing LBT at various events on evenings and weekends.
The Transit Analyst is responsible for providing a comprehensive review of the Transit Service Delivery and Planning (TSDP) department, identifying the costs of all services and programs offered, evaluating on the basis of established strategic priorities and budget objectives within the department and, ultimately guiding the development of the annual operating and capital budget to ensure fiscal sustainability and financial accountability. This includes analyzing and reporting on costs and productivity for LBT’s fixed-route, water taxi and special services; Requests for Proposals (RFPs), operating and capital grants, as well as departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for developing and enhancing infrastructure and applications to support the growth of the business and to promote a highly available and stable computing environment. The Sr. Network Engineer will contribute to the overall engineering, design, build and high level support of all existing and new network infrastructure. Works closely with our internal clients to develop consensus and find solutions to problems facing their business constituents.
The Bus Operator provides excellent customer service and safely transports passengers to their destinations. Long Beach Transit is rated as one of America’s leading transit systems with one of the most modern and finest fleets in the nation. Services provided include 39 fixed routes, several inner-city express lines, and downtown and oceanfront shuttles. Long Beach Transit employs nearly 800 people.

The Training Supervisor is responsible for effectively and efficiently developing, delivering, coordinating and evaluating Long Beach Transit (LBT) training programs. The primary focus is the training of new Bus Operators, providing state mandated refresher training (SMART), verified transit training course classes, and return-to-work/accident retraining programs. In addition, the Training Supervisor develops and delivers training programs for staff.

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor supervises mechanics and utility workers in the maintenance and repair of Long Beach Transit (LBT) buses. This position also requires the incumbent to diagnose vehicle and equipment failures and train new mechanics in proper repair procedures.

Under the direction of the Maintenance Operations Planner, this position is responsible for operating a parts storeroom, which includes: receiving, stocking, and issuing parts, tools, miscellaneous materials, and supplies for a transit maintenance facility operating approximately 250 buses.

Long Beach Transit maintains a fleet of buses, which includes 60-ft. articulated buses, gasoline hybrids, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Diesel, and battery propulsions systems. This position performs all types of bus vehicle repairs, inspections, maintenance and electrical repairs, ranging from minor to major. Mechanics that are hired will be placed in “A,”“B,” or “C” classification based on experience and aptitude. “C” and “B” mechanics, under supervision and training, have opportunity for advancement to “A” mechanic.

Under the direction of the Utility Supervisor, the Utility Worker performs a variety of duties related to the cleaning and servicing of Long Beach Transit (LBT) buses and other vehicles and equipment, facility grounds, and work areas.

The Transit Supervisor plans, directs, monitors, and controls Transit activities required to ensure that safe, efficient, and dependable bus service is provided to all Long Beach Transit customers. The Transit Supervisor reports to the Superintendent of Transit Services and is the individual responsible for the supervision of Transit staff and Bus operators.
