Responsibilities

  • Safely operates all models of buses, including the latest electric vehicles.
  • Transports our customers and assists them in making important travel decisions.
  • Maintains a clean and professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Supports customers with travel related questions and issues.
  • Follows an assigned route, collect fares while stopping to allow customers to board and deboard.
  • Assists customers using wheelchairs or other mobility devices.
  • Communicates with team members, completes written reports and forms.
  • Adheres to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    • 2 years of customer service experience
    • Valid CA Class C license required with excellent driving record
    • Must be 21 years or older with a California Driver’s License (at least two years with CA driver’s license)
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • Ability to upgrade to Class B driver’s license with a passenger endorsement and air brakes certification, with no restrictions of the weight of the vehicle
    • Availability to work varying shifts, hours, days, and locations

     

     SKILL SET:

      • Must be able to read, write and speak English well enough to sufficiently perform all essential functions and duties of the Bus Operator

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Sitting, walking, standing, bending neck (up and down), twisting neck (side to side), twisting and bending waist (forward or sideways), squatting (similar to the bowling position), climbing, kneeling (to bend on one knee), simple grasping, controlled grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling, reaching above/below/at shoulder height and lifting/carrying 0 - 30 pounds.

     

     

    Upon Request, a DMV Driving record printout is required with application (must be current within the 30 days of the printout).
