Under the supervision of the Service Planning Specialist, the position of Data Collector is responsible for collecting data about customer transactions and service performance. The Data Collector performs various types of survey work including vehicle boarding/alighting counts, on-street point checks, and one-on-one passenger interviews. Survey work may be assigned throughout Long Beach Transit (LBT) service hours and may include any locations within the service area. This position provides written and oral summaries of observations, and operates electronic data collection equipment. The Data Collector provides support to the Service Planning Specialist in developing survey materials, performing data entry, and offering overall support for Company projects.

$12.77 per hour. Accumulated hours worked earns paid vacation
High school diploma or GED required. Individuals must have proficient communication skills. Bilingual ability is desirable. Basic math skills and the ability to work independently on a flexible work schedule are essential. Must be able to work any time during LBT service hours.
